Fall Fests Bring Even More Fun to Illinois’ Clinton County

CC fall festival imageWhile summer days are winding down, fall festivals in Clinton County are getting ready to begin! It’s always fun this time of year with apple picking, pumpkin patches and cool weather inviting us all outside to play. So, get out your calendars and jot down these fun upcoming events.

First up on September 19 is the Wamac Fall Festival in Centralia. This daytime family event includes a carnival, live entertainment, sports competitions, bands, games and kids activities. There’ll be plenty of food and beer to keep you happy too.

Also on that Saturday is the Bartelso Fall Fest 2015. Bring the family and head to Bartelso Park and join the kickball tournaments—adults and kids each have one! There will also be a Bags tournament, face painting and inflatable rides. Sponsored by the Bartelso Parent Faculty Club, the event will have DJ music playing all day, a live Talking Sports show with Rip in the afternoon, and the band, Scooters, performing in the evening. Food and refreshments will be available all day. Feeling lucky? The grad raffle prize is $5,000, with more than $12,000 in cash prizes to be awarded.

The first Saturday in October is when St. Bernard’s in Albers will hold their Fall Festival. This favorite event begins late in the afternoon and mixes indoor and outdoor activities. A Grandparents Mass, pork sausage dinner, quilt and cash bingo and country store will all be inside. Outdoors, the fun includes children’s rides and games, pony rides and a vendor fair. Food available outdoors includes chili, burgers and fries, kettle corn, and funnel cakes as well as beer and soda. Bobby & the Buzzards will be performing on the outdoor stage in the evening.

Head over to Breese the following weekend for the Breese Optimist Fall Fest 2015. It’s more fun for the family, starting with a fun run in the morning and continuing on throughout the day with live music, a vendor fair, kids activities and a truck show with Rusty Rodz Car Club. There will be a Chili Cookoff, and for beer fans, a Home Brew Contest sponsored by Excel Brewing . It all adds up to one fun-filled day!

Halloween Event!

All things Halloween is the focus of the Centralia Fall Fest, held the last Saturday in October. The all-day event is a family affair featuring a craft fair and flea market, free children’s games and activities, a chili cook-off, car show, entertainment, and lots of great food. food, The morning highlight will be the Children’s Halloween Parade, giving kids of all ages a chance to dress in costume and walk in the parade. The 89th annual Centralia Halloween Parade, kicks off at 7:00 p.m. with marching bands, floats and many more attractions.
