Germantown, Illinois Spassfest August 19-21, 2016

Pull out your lederhosen and get ready to polka! The 49th Annual Germantown Spassfest, one of Clinton County’s most fun late summer events will be August 19-21, 2016. For anyone who loves German food, beer and music (and who doesn’t?), this is a not-to-miss weekend.

tent at nightThe fun begins on Friday afternoon and includes a new event: the Bierlauf. This is a one-mile race where participants drink a beer, then run ¼-mile. Entrants can choose from three runner divisions: Experienced Drinker, Relay (a team of four) and Social division where walking is allowed. The evening also includes a bags tournament, kids games and entertainment by Short Circuit DJ.

Saturday’s highlights include a Hugz & Fitz Gymnastics & Cheer show, human Foosball, a custom and antique bike show, talent contest and parade, in addition to rides, games, a polka Mass and evening entertainment by Well Hungarians.parade

Come early on Sunday to enjoy a Spassfest breakfast before checking out the winners of the noontime raffle. Prizes are big—Grand Prize is a 2008 Jeep Wrangler or $12,000 cash!

And of course, all three days you can enjoy delicious brats and kraut, burgers, fried chicken, funnel cakes and more tasty items. And of course, beer!

Saturday, 11:00 a.m. – midnight
Polka Mass, St. Boniface Church, 4:00 p.m.
Parade, 5:30 p.m.
Entertainment, 8:00 p.m. – midnight

Sunday
Breakfast, 8:00 a.m. – noon
Raffle drawing at noon

Check the Spassfest website for specific events and times. Those who wish to participate in games or the run must pre-register.

Mark your calendar, because this is a great weekend to head to Clinton County!
