Millside Inn: Germantown, Illinois’ Historic Bar

It’s not big or fancy, but the Millside Inn in Germantown, Illinois, has been a stalwart stop for years.

Beer bottles with title, The pub/diner has a loyal following that enjoys a casual setting, a lineup of cold brews, weekly games, and good food. So if you’re looking for a place to stop along the way on a road trip, or just a spot to enjoy a brew and a burger, Millside Inn is it.

Located in a building that was built in the 1830’s, Millside Inn has a settled-in feel with funky décor and, in good weather, a beer garden complete with fire pits, bean bags and space for bands to play. The bar serves a good selection of beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. The kitchen is open late, which makes it a great place to stop after events or a movie. Burgers top the list of casual options, with other sandwiches, chicken dishes, pizzas, and daily specials rounding out the menu. The bar offers happy hour Tuesday through Thursday, and specials on Monday and Wednesday. Find pool tables, darts, and foosball inside, with more games available outside in summer.

And for anyone who has had a day when they just didn’t want to cook, Millside Inn offers rotisserie chickens. Call before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday through Saturday, and you can pick up dinner on the way home!
