It’s Almost Fair Time in Clinton County, Illinois!

Mark your calendars for July 16 – 22, 2017. Those are the dates for the Clinton County Fair, one of the highlights of summer here in southwestern Illinois.
Now in its 66th year, the Fair brings participants and enthusiasts from around the county and beyond for a weeklong fest of fun, food, animals, and agriculture.

The big kickoff to the week is the Fair Parade on Monday night. This year’s theme is “50 Years of Carlyle Lake,” in honor of the anniversary of Illinois’ largest manmade lake. Every day offers a lineup of events, starting with dance on Monday evening all the way through to a demolition derby on Saturday night. The Queen Pageant will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. For a complete listing of events, visit the Clinton County Fair website. But to give you an idea of what’s on tap, some of the evening highlights are listed below.
