Clinton County IL residents work Together during COVID-19 Crisis

Trenton, IL residents and business people are supporting each other during the COVID-19 crisis. Restaurants depend on the locals to continue to purchase take-out meals while their dining rooms remain closed. Trenton House Restaurant is a local staple – being located in the center of town at 2 East Broadway.  They have been a constant resource for banquets and parties up to 80 people. While those big parties are on hold for now, Trenton House is offering meals to go. Their curb-side pick-up is available from 11am-8pm Tuesdays through Sundays. Lunch specials run from 11am to 2pm. After 2pm, their regular dinner menu is available.

Another favorite restaurant on Broadway is 7 West Bar & Grill – and yes, it is located at 7 West Broadway. They are offering some great specials every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday during the COVID-19 take-out-only restrictions. How about bone-in or boneless wings for $.70 each? Or enjoy a 12-inch, two-topping pizza for just $10. If you need more pizza, get a 16-inch two topping pie for $14.  Friday fish fries are still going on featuring Tilapia Tacos, a Catfish Po Boy, and Crunchy Grouper Sandwich. See their menu for more delicious take-out dinners and sandwiches.

Also in the center of town and only a one-minute walk from either of these restaurants, you will find yourself in Mexico on Main. This restaurant is offering Mexican cuisine every day of the week. Temporary hours (during the COVID-19 crisis) are Monday through Thursday, 2pm to 8pm and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 11am to 8pm. They are even offering Margaritas To Go! If you need an early “pick-me-up,” stop by Press Coffee and Tea located at 19 West Broadway. While the Pandemic causes “stay-at-home” regulars, the brewers at Press Coffee and Tea understand that coffee is essential. Their hours are modified during this time to Wednesday through Friday, 7am to 2pm and Saturdays 8am to 1pm. Check their FaceBook page for special giveaways too!

Their hours are daily for dinner, 5pm to 7pm and Monday through Friday they also serve lunch from 11am to 1pm. They offer only curbside pickup at lunchtime but also delivery during the diner hours. Look for their mascot in the window holding sanitizing products.

Casey’s is open at 300 W Broadway offering pizza to go and by delivery. This store also sells gasoline. So you can fill up your gas tank and satisfy your hunger at the same time.

There are businesses that will be open again when the travel restrictions are lifted. Buy a new game at The Wizards Nook. Browse around Warehouse 300 to find wonderful shabby chic, vintage, and farmhouse home décor. Check out other shops on the Trenton Chamber of Commerce’s website.

You need to add all of these restaurants and shops to your itinerary when you visit Clinton County, Illinois.
