Spend Labor Day Weekend on the Carlyle Lake Wine Trail

Labor Day Weekend often means the unofficial end of the summer. It also means that the grape harvest is happening on the Carlyle Lake Wine Trail!  The member wineries are planning events, fun, and great wine tasting over the holiday weekend. Check out the map of participating wineries and begin your adventure to great wines, music, and fun.

Hidden Lake Winery

Logo for Hidden Lake WineryBegin your adventure at Hidden Lake Winery located just south of Aviston, IL in the western part of Clinton County. Hidden Lake Winery has cabins for overnight lodging and a restaurant to provide food for your wine tasting. On Saturday, September 5, live music will be provided by Alexandra Key. The proceeds from the concert will benefit Brett’s First Responders. There will be plenty of outdoor seating available.

Bretz Wildlife Lodge and Winery

A rather unique winery included in the Carlyle Lake Wine Trail is Bretz Wildlife Lodge and Winery located north of Carlyle on State Route 127.  During the Labor Day weekend, Bretz will have live music on both Saturday night.  On Saturday, September 5, Jennifer Thompson & The Harvest Drive Band will rock the winery with country, blues and southern rock music.

Twelve Oaks Vineyard

Be sure to add a stop at Twelve Oaks Vineyard on your Wine Trail adventure. During the afternoon, from 2pm-6pm, on Saturday, September 5, Bangolicious will sing and play some great music while you relax with a glass of award-winning wine. You will enjoy spending some time on this land that has been in the family for over 100 years.

Crooked Creek Winery

With names of their wines being “Barn Dance,” “Trifecta,” “Hayseed,” and “Giddy Up,” you know this will be an interesting and fun winery to visit! Crooked Creek Winery  uses local grapes to make their wines. The entertainment during your wine tasting will be watching their great performing cutting horses.  The horse farm and vineyards are located west of Centralia but they have now opened a downtown Centralia location at 107 N. Oak St. On Friday, September 4, Angela Fench Band will be playing at the downtown location.
